Other Creative Work
Elements of My Creative Practice
My professional work has always been connected to a broader creative practice.
I draw, photograph, paint, make things with my hands, and pay close attention to the natural world.
My wet felted work grew out of an interest in color, texture, landscape, and natural materials. Each piece is inspired by the colors, patterns, and moods of the world around meβsea, sky, earth, and flora.
I also enjoy plein air painting and drawing, particularly as a way of slowing down and looking closely at a place.
These arenβt separate interests so much as different ways of seeing.
Wearable Art
Through wet felting, I combine wool, silk, and other fine fibers to create scarves, cowls, and wraps inspired by nature.
Each piece is handmade and one of a kind.
Painting + Drawing
I regularly work from observation, including plein air painting and drawing. These studies are another way of paying attention to landscape, light, color, and the details of a place.
